Vocational Training Program (State-sponsored)

Introduction
  • Vocational training programs, entirely paid for by the national government, for unemployed job seekers at age 15 or older
  • Period  One-year and short-term programs
  • Qualification  Unemployed job seekers at age 15 or older (no educational backgrounds required)
  • Benefits  The Korean government pays for the entire cost of the programs including lecture fees, practice material expenses, dormitory expenses, and food. Year-long program graduates are exempted from the required written examinations for national qualification certifications and are provided additional consultation for finding jobs and post-program training. Program participants also receive KRW 200,000 as training allowance and KRW 50,000 as transportation allowance

  • Trainees gain understanding of the globalization of Korean food (particularly the traditional fermented kinds), the importance of food security and environmental protection, and acquire advanced knowledge and skills needed by the cooking and food industry
