Introduction

Vocational training programs, entirely paid for by the national government, for unemployed job seekers at age 15 or older
Period One-year and short-term programs
Qualification Unemployed job seekers at age 15 or older (no educational backgrounds required)
Benefits The Korean government pays for the entire cost of the programs including lecture fees, practice material expenses, dormitory expenses, and food. Year-long program graduates are exempted from the required written examinations for national qualification certifications and are provided additional consultation for finding jobs and post-program training. Program participants also receive KRW 200,000 as training allowance and KRW 50,000 as transportation allowance

Plating

Trainees acquire the knowledge and skills for special plating, including those concerning plating processes, as well as the management, analysis, and measurements of plating solutions

Semiconductor Surface Finishing Treatment

Trainees acquire the knowledge and core skills for plating and surface finishing of semiconductors, which are core processes of semiconductor manufacturing

Nondestructive Testing

Trainees acquire the knowledge, skills, and competencies required to perform nondestructive testing in various areas—aircraft manufacturing, shipbuilding, power generation—and assess the safety of structures

Craftsman Certifications - radiation nondestructive testing, ultrasonic nondestructive testing, magnetic nondestructive testing, and penetrative nondestructive testing

Automobile Painting

Trainees learn about the theories of the characteristics, methodologies, and chromatographic attributes of various paints and thereby acquire the ability to perform metal painting works, using various paints and related tools that protect and embellish the surfaces of products

Casting

Trainees acquire not only theoretical knowledge, but also the highly sought-after skills and competencies for a variety of tasks involved in the manufacture and quality assurance of parts for medical equipment, electric and electronic devices, aircrafts, automobiles, and machinery, including the drawings and designs, vacuum casting, heat treatment and material testing, and nondestructive testing

Industrial Engineer Certifications - metal engineer, casting (open to those who are eligible to apply for industrial engineer certifications)
Craftsman Certifications - pattern-making, casting, metal material testing, heat treatment, iron making, steel making, and rolling
