Introduction

Vocational training programs, entirely paid for by the national government, for unemployed job seekers at age 15 or older
Period One-year and short-term programs
Qualification Unemployed job seekers at age 15 or older (no educational backgrounds required)
Benefits The Korean government pays for the entire cost of the programs including lecture fees, practice material expenses, dormitory expenses, and food. Year-long program graduates are exempted from the required written examinations for national qualification certifications and are provided additional consultation for finding jobs and post-program training. Program participants also receive KRW 200,000 as training allowance and KRW 50,000 as transportation allowance

Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Machinery

Trainees gain understanding of the structures, components, and mechanisms of air-conditioning and refrigeration machinery, and master the operation of various devices, tools, and automatic control systems to produce, operate, maintain, and inspect such machinery

Mechanical Equipment and Plant Maintenance

Trainees acquire the ability to perform repair and preventive maintenance on a wide range of mechanical equipment and facilities, and become capable of maintaining mechanical plants at various levels such as production, inspection, and operation

Craftsman Certification - machinery maintenance, plant maintenance, production automatic operation, electricity, hydro-pneumatic, and computer-aided mechanical drawing

System Control

Trainees acquire specialized knowledge on automation, as well as the ability to design, produce, operate, maintain, and repair automated mechanical systems

Motor Vehicle System Control

Trainees acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for automating and maximizing the efficiency of systems using the latest electric–electronic and information technologies. They gain understanding of the mechanisms of PLC (Melsec, Glofa), servomotor control, touch screen control, hydro-pneumatic control, hydraulic servo control, electricity and electronics, CAD/CAM software, multipurpose machine tools, and CNC machine tools
